“Can I connect an external hard drive into the usb to watch mp4 movies from the hard drive?”

• Yes and no! I tried 2 portable hard drives. An old 500 MB drive would not work, however a newer 1 TB drive does work. The TV is somewhat finicky about file formats. MP4 and AVI will both play but sometimes it will not even show a file in the menu list???

• We use our external HDD's with this TV all the time. Mp4 works great. Just make sure the HDD is formatted FAT or FAT32.

• If you can power the hard drive then you can watch via usb. It's easier with a flash drive and female to female usb adapter.
