Kandi, How are you connecting your DirecTV to your television? If you are using coxial (single cable with a needle, usually how most people connect their VCRs), you need to put the TV on channel 3. If you are using component (red, green, blue cables), composite (red, white, yellow cables), or HDMI (single cable that looks like a computer cable) then you need to change that TV's input or source to the appropriate input so that the TV knows which input to display. There should be an input/source button on the remote and side of TV that will toggle you through the inputs. Hope this answers your question.
