The feet are 28 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. The feet extend nearly the full width of the TV.

Please try again later.You would require a platform at least the bottom width of the tv, as the stand is actually feet only for the bottom left and right of the tv and doesn't cover the tv bottom in its entirety. Sounds dumb, but so is placing the tv controls at the base (bottom of the tv) and all of the inputs in the back. This means it is not optimal for the flattest mount possible because all of the inputs stick out of the back.

I've done this for all my cabinet stand TV's. Regarding cabinet, I'd recommend purchasing a cabinet as wide as the total width of the TV. It'll look cleaner, in my opinion, but it's truly up to you. As stated previously, get the TV tip over prevention kit from Best Buy or Home Depot, or some other online retailer. The TV is not heavy so you don't need a heavy duty cable.
