The 5500 has a faster processor. I asked the exact same question to the sales guy. I wish I would have paid the additional $$ for the 5500. The 5205 has some serious lag time.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The 32J5500 is a slightly more advanced configuration in that it has 1 more HDMI port than that 32J5205. The 32J5500 also mentions a V-chip in the specs along with being heavier and wider. They don't seem to have many differences though looking through the specs depending on what is most important to you.
