A smart television is one that is internet enabled (usually supporting both wired or wireless) and supports installing and using streaming applications that can be accessed from the TV, such as Amazon, Hulu , Netflix and many others. These TVs can often be controlled from an app on a smart phone or home hub(like Smart Things) and have firmware that can be updated by the manufacturer over the internet. With smart TVs, one does not necessarily need satellite or cable subscriptions since content can be played directly on the TV over the network. To enjoy these capabilities, one needs a high speed internet connection and lots of bandwidth. They are good for cord cutters who are looking to escape from traditional cable or satellite subscription services.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has internet connection and apps, just like a smart phone.
