Yes the 32 “ refers to the viewing screen measured from one corner to the opposite corner diagonally across then screen and it is pretty much the maximum size of the tv itself in the model due to its much more slimmer bezel then other 32 “ TV sets from Samsung I was pleasantly surprised at the smaller over all space it consumed in my sleeper of my truck where I had the 1080 full hd model of the 32 Samsung TVs I the same place b4 I got this one and it fit the limited space with a lot more room above and below it than the one b4 it and the over all quality of the design and durability is by far a huge improvement it is a ton more solid and just put together in a much more sleek and strong and stylish fashion u would definitely agree if u had any of the predecessors of the Samsung 32 line up hope this helps u make a better informed decision o and the picture and user interface is totally redesigned and very good way can’t believe how much I enjoyed this upgrade sadly I have cracked my screen in a unfortunate event =(
