“Would it be stupid to get this when it doesn't support G-Sync when I have an NVIDIA GTX 1070? Should I get the Asus PG348Q that does support G-Sync instead?”

I used to have predator x34 , IPS panels are horrible with their glow and back light bleed, not a pleasant experience. I recommend this Samsung over any other, no bleed, no it's glow, do I miss gsync ? No. as long as you enable fast sync on Nvidia control panel you'll be good no tear, n you get smooth gameplay as long as you have a powerful PC. My specs cpu 5820k n GTX 1080 :)

If you play your games in full screen mode then yes I'd probably spend the extra $$ for G-Sync. If you play in Windowed or Borderless Window then it won't make any difference. I have a 3 monitor setup so don't play in full screen since that makes it difficult to access what's on the other monitors, stuff like my voice chat app and web browser. And depending on who you talk to G-Sync's improvement in picture quality is very slight, only noticeable to those who are really into high end picture quality. Lots of reviews and videos out there on this that are easy to find via Internet search.
