QuestionIf this hood’s duct is 6” then would the vent hole of the wall to the outside of the house have to be 6” too? Our old vent hole is 4” and wondering if we need to increase size.

- Answer Yes. You are right. It has to be 6 inches. The size of your old oppening has to be increased to accommodate 6 inch vent

QuestionIs the 36 inch Samsung rangehood able to be self vented? I was told by 2people at Best Buy that it was convertible and could be vented indoors. However a rep fro Samsung said NO. It must be vented outdoors. anyone know the answer?

- Answer This hood is no good. I purchased it and it does not work. Best Buy and Samsung have given me the run around. I would purchase a hood from a different manufacturer.

- Answer Hi bkah, It is a very interesting question. Yes, you are right the maximum noise level is 74 dBA which is equivalent to 10.8 sones. Regarding the noise level of the rangehood, 1 sone is about the loudness of a quiet running refrigerator, and 4 sone is a normal conversion.
