• Yes it does at times. There is no concern. If anything , at least you know it is working. Its electricity that your are "creating a short circuit " with anyways. I will never go back to gas or electric now.

• Mine does not hum, I bought really good cookware and I can feel the vibration in the handle of the cookware but no noise.
