Does this TV work for cable? null

If your cable box has HDMI output, it should work. Adjusting the volume would be a pain as it doesn't have a remote. The monitor has two HDMI inputs and a display port. Volume, input selection, and other adjustments are made with a small toggle at the bottom of the monitor.

This is a computer monitor, not a television.
