“The description says: "App-controlled..NO" and then later it says" Requires Samsung Smart Washer/Dryer app". Is that a contradiction? Does it REQUIRE an app?”

• Hi Mark, Thank you for reaching out and providing us with your question. Some of our Samsung washers/dryers have Wi-Fi features and need to download the SmartThings App or Smart Control. This washer model has no Wi-Fi feature, and you can still use your washer as normal. Have a great day. Melardo
