The WF448 has been on the market since 2008; the WF419 was launched in 2009. These two models have very similar features, and "best" is a relative term. If you do many loads of laundry each week, then the larger capacity of the 4.5 cubic foot WF448 may be the "best" for you. If efficiency is a top priority, then perhaps the 4.3 cubic foot WF419, which is among the most efficient on the market is the "best". In either case, you wouldn't be sacrificing quality or features, including: Samsung's patented Vibration Reduction Technology, which significantly reduces noise and vibration so you can install anywhere in the house, even on the second floor; Direct Drive Motor, for both quietness and durability; Diamond Drum, to reduce wear on fabrics; ActivFresh (WF419) or SilverCare (WF448), to help keep both the drum and your clothes fresh-smelling and mildew-free without bleach, even in cold water; Steam Cycle, to help remove stains and odors. In addition, both models are extremely efficient in both energy and water use, and both share Samsung's legacy as the most recent (2009) recipient of the JD Power & Associates Overall Customer Satisfaction Award for Washing Machines. Thank you for your interest in Samsung! - Ms. Samsung
