Mine sits on thick carpet and the technician who installed it admonished me to put a board (plywood) under the machine to keep the machine level. This could affect the spin cycle ability to be the most effective and may be more noisy.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for asking, RBG. We appreciate your question about the experience on your washer that makes noise during the spin cycle. If you hear a clanking noise, thumping or knocking, or quite humming or buzzing noise, these are normal sounds during the spin cycle. For best performance, the washer must be installed on a solid floor. Wood floors may need to be reinforced to minimize vibration and/or unbalanced loads. Carpeting and soft tile surfaces do not provide good resistance to vibrations and may cause the washer to move slightly during the spin cycle. Have a great day. Melardo
