“Is there a way to prevent TV being on from blocking VHF channel? I am generally quite happy with the Samsung UN40H5003AFXZA TV. I am using an amplified indoor antenna that is connected to a DVR, and from there goes to a splitter that is connected to the TV and a digital converter for a VCR. The DVR is connected to the TV with HDMI, and the VCR is connected to the TV with a composite connection. This works fine for over-the-air UHF stations. However, I had been having problems receiving digital channel 2 (RF channel 7) and recently discovered that having the TV turned on causes digital channel 2 to not be received. If the TV is turned off, the DVR and VCR record digital channel 2 without any problem; but if they are recording with the TV turned off and it is then turned on, they lose the channel 2 signal at the point where the TV is turned on. This was not the case with the old (1990) TV that this Samsung TV replaced. What would cause this behavior, and is there a work-around for it so that I can get channel 2 (RF channel 7) when the TV is turned on? (Incidentally, there is also a digital channel 7, which broadcasts on RF channel 41, and there is no problem receiving that channel.)”
