• No. My TV is nowhere near the router & it picks up the WiFi signal just fine. Hope this helps

• This really depends on your router. For WiFi. Cable or dsl modems with built in WiFi don't have a strong signal strength like a regular WiFi router. You can always get WiFi exerted too.
