“Just purchased Samsung 40" 4K TV and sometimes the picture goes black. I can not find how to remedy this in the instruction manual.”

• I had the same issue. I believe it was happening when the TV was doing software updates, because it did stop about a day after I got the TV.

• You may check the energy savings setting on your DVR. To prevent burn in on the screen if you pause television with a DVR, it can go to a blank screen until you hit "play" again. If it is not your DVR check to see if you TV has a energy saving setting.
