Q: I'm not familiar with the smart tv's. what exactly does it do?
A: A Smart TV allows you access content from the Internet. Content like movies from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.
A: These televisions are all different, and are best for different applications. The UN40KU6290 (this product) is the 2016 model, and it is the only one out of the 3 you listed that supports 4K (3840 x 2160). The other 2 support 1080p (6290 is 4 times the resolution), and they are both the 2015 model. All 3 are Smart televisions. Picking out of these will be completely dependent on your application. If you are planning on having an extremely close viewing distance (ie: using this as a monitor), the 6290 is your best bet. Since the J5200 and KU6290 are the same price, there is absolutely no reason to purchase the J5200 at this moment. The UN40J6200 has a higher refresh rate (120 HZ panel vs 60 HZ like the 6290 and J5200). If you plan to use this with a further viewing distance (ie: bedroom, living room, etc.), the J6200 may be more desirable. The J5200/J6300 should be shown at your local Best Buy. The KU6290 will most likely not be on display, but the KU6300 will be (this is comperable).
Q: Specs state this TV has Motion Rate 120. In Samsung speak this means it is 60 Hz, correct?
A: Yes, It has a 60hz panel and is limited to 60Hz actual refresh rate, but it can accept a 120Hz input at 1080P and drop every other frame.
A: This tv is, according to another website, very similar to the ku6300, but lacks Bluetooth and has a standard remote. So it should be close in price, but at the time of writing is 100$ more.

A: Dark Titan is the darkest gray you can imagine. It's basically black. It has a slight metallic shine on the base but the border around the tv is black. Hope that helps!

A: Yes but in order to access the 4K Netflix content you must : 1. Have the premium Netflix memebership ($12 per month) ,which is the only one that has 4K shows/movies . 2. Have a steady 25mbps or higher Internet connection . Looks great by the way
Q: What is the length of the base?
A: 29 inches wide and 11 inches deep. The photo is not accurate. The stand almost extends to the width of the tv.
