“TV Speakers work, but "Audio/Optical Output" does not. The only time external speakers work is when doing the Self-Diagnosis for Sound. How do I get Audio/Output to work for Digial Audio Out connection? Thanks.”

You can set the optical output to either PCM or Dolby Digital out. Some external speakers may only recognize one setting, so try them both to see if one works.
