Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Samsung 6230 TV needs a digital optical to analog converter. This provides audio via the traditional outputs. An example of such a converter is sold by Fosmon. A description by Fosman as copied and pasted. "It changes coaxial or toslink digital audio signals into analog L/R audio. The audio signal converter supports a sampling rate at 32, 44.1, 4 and 96 KHz. AIt has a 24-bit S/PDIF incoming bit stream on left and right channels. The digital-to-analog audio converter is easy to install and operate. You can connect RCA style or A/V jacks and external devices to item. The Fosmon Digital Optical Coax-To-Analog RCA Audio Converter Adapter provides crisp and clear audio quality." Several people on the Walmart forum said it doesn't work with Dolby, unless you can switch it off. However the Dolby Digital menu selection on this 6290 is grayed out and meaning there is no Dolby. My guess is this Fosman digital optical analog converter should work. Users of the converter were pleased with the results.
