• Yes, the remote has numbers for manual input and also the Up/Down channel selector. It is usually possible to train the cable box remote to turn the TV on/off so an elderly person only needs to use one remote control.

• The remote has all the options you will need. It is easy to switch channels, scroll through options and does have channel numbers. The numbers are not enlarged for the hard of sight. It is not like those horrible comcast/xfinity remotes with 3 buttons on it. Highly recommend this TV I've had it for about 2 months now.

• Yes. I have an elderly relative who can use it without any problems. You can also just use your cable remote.
