Hi Mearsydoats, the 8 Series is better in a few ways. To start it has a voice remote which can access Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Bixby. It also has a photo and music wall which gives the TV different functionality when you aren’t watching your favorite shows. Enjoy your day! ^Scott
