Composite inputs are for old-style analog RCA cables, and would only be used if you have a legacy DVD (or even a video tape) player with no HDMI output and no optical digital audio output. Chances are you at least have a BluRay-capable DVD player, and using its HDMI and optical audio outputs will provide optimum results.

This is the connection used by older devices such as DVD players, VCR players, or standard definition cable boxes. The TU8000 features one set of Composite (yellow, white, red) connections allowing you to connect one of these devices. ^Tim
