“Does resetting the tv by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back in when the tv is on hurt it in any way? How about if it is plugged into a surge protector and you do the same thing?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The safest way to reset any electronic device is to power it down in the normal manner, then unplug it from the wall socket. If a surge protector is in use, the on/off switch on it can be used instead of pulling the plug out of the wall to reset the device.
