Yes, we have the same issue. From what we've found out, it's the plastic... it's cheap and off gassing.

I think there's always a certain amount of chemical smell from any new TV, but it is usually slight and stops happening after a short time of use. If it's strong and persistent, it would suggest there's a faulty component that's over heating. I would discuss it with Best Buy and I'm sure they'll agree to swap it out. You don't want the thing catching fire in your house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No I have not had this problem. I would highly recommend you exchange it for another one. Sounds like a circuit board is getting hot inside the TV. They give off a horrible stinch when they get hot or burn.
