A:AnswerI have an older Blu Ray player connected to my receiver that indirectly outputs video to the TV. The 4k receiver handles the video with a single up-to-date HDMI 2.0 (2.0a?) or better cable through the ARC port of the 4k receiver and the NU6900. Not sure--and I doubt whether--a direct DVD to TV connection would do the trick since the player itself lacks an ARC HDMI connection.

The audio output requires an optical (fiber optic) cable for connection to an external audio device of your choosing. So long as your chosen device will connect to the TV audio output via a fiber optic cable, you should be good. I think. I'm just learning about this, myself. I recommend you ask someone in an electronics store, or a geek friend. Maybe someone out there reading this has a better answer?
