• Hi Chippy - If you're connecting an external device such as a Blu-ray Player or cable box, we recommend upgrading to High-Speed HDMI cables with Ethernet Channel, sometimes labeled as HEC/HEAC on the cable itself. ~ Samsung Specialist

• Yes, unless you’re just using the native UI, you will need a HDMI cable to attach a media player (Apple TV, Roku, Blu-ray player, etc.)
