No, the Samsung remote comes with his TV is a universal remote that is a solar charged and can also be charged by USB-C cables. IPod a S series sound bar along with his television and the remote control for the television use is able to control the soundbar in the television as well as my Google Chromecast and other things the only controller you'll need is this one included with the television. If you go to your settings menu on the TV at a very far right it will say universal remote setup if you click on that all your devices are powered on it will go through each of them to make sure that it's it's connected.
