There was plastic protection around the perimeter but not in the middle of the tv when I unpacked it.

The triangle will have an illustration showing how to remove the protective film. If you do not have a blue triangle in the upper left corner, then that means there is no protective film on the screen, so please do not try to peel off anything. You will damage what is actually the screen. ^Gina
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO IT DOES NOT!!! Only the perimeter does and those are thun strips. What you see is the protective layer. Mine has a tiny bubble in top left corner making me think it was a screen protector but it wasnt.
