You can connect external sources like a cable box or Blu-Ray player to HDMI inputs on the TV. Blu-Ray players typically do not require an Internet connection to operate, just for firmware updates or smart features. Internet connection requirements for cable boxes depends on how your cable provider delivers TV service: QUAM service over coax (traditional cable TV) does not require Internet, IPTV does. You can also connect an antenna without Internet.
