“I'm looking to keep a Samsung A23 charged on a 4-day backpack trip. I need power for the trail app used w/ the GPS feature of the phone, maps downloaded in advance so not using data. Do I need 20,000 mAh or would 10,000 mAh be enough? The 20 is heavy!”

Well, it heavily depends on how much you will use your phone. Phones are usually designed to last a full day on a full battery with normal daily use including some web browsing, snapping pictures, and some light gaming. For a higher-end S23/S24 Ultra equipped with a 5000 battery, I'd say 20000 is needed for a 4-day trip. A23 would probably go a bit longer since it's not as power-hungry, but still 10000 is a bit too little I'd say, unless you truly use it only for the basic stuff you mentioned.
