• Doesn't matter too much with the TV since the wall mounts handle these variations by securing the TV to slotted vertical steel strips, then horizontal rails (one piece construction) allow the TV to slide across on the vertical strip hooks. The proper rail size should be shorter than the TV's width. To mount the rail, find the framing studs behind the wall and plan to mount the rail to the load bearing wall studs. Don't center the rail to the drilled stud holes, just keep in mind that the placement of the TV should cover the rail. That will dictate which framing joists are selected.
