The legs are 37.5 inches apart. I believe they could be installed 2 ways, angled out which is the "correct" way or angled in which would have a slightly smaller footprint. I installed them the "correct" way and had to build a wooden extension top for my TV cabinet. No big deal, I didn't want to buy a new cabinet just for this TV.
