“Since the 49-inch doesn't have the Ultra Wide Viewing Angle feature, does it have to be viewed straight on? Will picture quality suffer at all at a 50-degree angle?”

Hi Bartholomew! The 49Q80T features both Quantum HDR 8X and Direct Full Array 8X technology, which will give you great contrast and color; however, when sitting off-angle, you may see a difference in picture quality. We do recommend stepping up to the 55Q80T to provide you with Ultra Viewing Angle with Anti-Reflective technology, giving you best viewing spot is wherever you are seated! ^Gina
