No. There is no agitator (tall thing in the middle of the washing bowl) inside the washer. The washing bowl is large and can fit comforters. Instead of an agitator, clothes are "rubbed" into the sides of the washing bowl - that is "dimpled" (not flat). This causes the wringing action for the washing machine.
