Hey Amanda, I've found that we had the same issue with this and other units. A friend of the family informed us of a fix, buy a premium optical cable and use that in lieu of the HDMI cable. That should make a difference! Our sound volume went from 50ish to 20ish. Hope it helps!

I have mine connected via AUX cable because my TV only has two HDMI outlets that are already in use. It must just be the product itself. I also can’t notice a difference when the subwoofer is on vs when it’s off.
