Not sure, but why not put the powder oxy in the detergent tray? The blue liquid max fill inserts are removable if you're going to use powder. Seems to me putting powder at the bottom of the load may get clumpy and cause problems with the water circulation drain pump. When its draining you can hear the pump. Don't want to clog it up! I believe there are some detergent manufacturer's that produce HE detergents with Oxi-Clean already added into it, and that would be fine to use in the appropriate portions.
