Hello flowers4! Yes, you will need a hot water line connected to the washing machine to use the Steam feature. If you are not going to use the hot water, block the hot water supply intake with the water intake cap. Make sure to set the water temperature to Cold after blocking the hot water supply intake. Otherwise, the amount of supplied water could be low, or the water could not supply at all. Thank you for choosing Samsung! ^Lena
