The Samsung washer uses weight to determine how much water is in the tub. The samsung website says if it doesn't fill with enough water you may need to re-calibrate it's notion of how much the tub weighs. 1) Remove everything from your washer. 2) Simultaneously press and hold Temp. and Delay End for 3 seconds until Cb appears on the display. 3) Press Start/Pause. The tub will rotate back and forth for 1-3 minutes, display En, End, or 0, and then turn off. The washer is now calibrated.

This way you will know that it's only using cold water. I realized that the company calculates a normal size load as being a small load, like 2 to 4 outfits. To get half the tub, you need to use the Deep Wash setting. I hope this helps.
