“What is the coating on the cast iron griddle? The manual mentions not using metal utensils on it, as well as, the griddle getting seasoned as you use it. What is the coating made of?”

• I don't know what the coating is but have cooked with cast iron for years and use metal spatulas on my grill with no bad effects. Like any other cast iron if you scrape to hard you may have to reseason it.

• It is cast iron. If you use meal utensils they can leave silver marks on the grills.
