This oven allows both settings. Convection oven or traditional baking without Convection. There are actually 4 primary oven settings: 1.) Convection Bake - heat comes from the consealed bottom heating element and circulates with fan. 2.) Convection Roast - heat comes from the top element and circulates with fan allowing better browning of large cuts of meat. 3.) Standard Bake - heats from bottom element - no fans 4.) Broil - heats from top element - no fans
