Thanks for the question. Samsung's induction range cooktops are designed to automatically detect the presence of compatible pots and pans, but the radiant cooktop models, including the FE-R300SX, do not have this type of feature. They do, however, have an energy-saving feature that turns the oven off automatically after a set period of time. - Ms. Samsung
