A:AnswerThe purpose of the Steam Quick steam cleaning feature on the FE-R300SX is to help clean spilled and splattered grease and food from the oven cavity before it gets burned or baked onto the oven surfaces over time. So, for example, if you bake a pie and it spills a bit onto the oven floor, using Steam Quick that night, or before it has a chance to set and get baked on again, may enable you to clean up the mess without having to use the high heat necessary for the traditional Self-Cleaning method. If, on the other hand, there is a spill that gets baked on again and again, it is likely you would have to use the Self-Clean feature to clean the oven.

A:AnswerYes, Samsung's FE-R300SW electric range features both regular (pyrolytic) self-cleaning as well as the innovative Steam Quick option. Steam Quick is fast and efficient - ideal for keeping up with spills and splatters as they happen. Once the soils set and are baked on over time, the standard self-clean option would be the most effective way of cleaning the oven.

A:AnswerThank you for the question. The outside net depth of the FE-R300SX is 25-31/32"; the depth of the actual oven cavity is 18-15/16".

A:AnswerThank you for the question. The picture is correct - the cooktops on all current Samsung ranges are black, regardless of the color of the body.

A:AnswerYes, the broil element for the FE-R300SB is located on the ceiling of the oven cavity, and is controlled electronically with the buttons on the display panel. Like the other Samsung ranges, the broil elements are recessed into the top of the oven, which is a helpful safety measure, since it helps avoid burning your forearm as you reach into the oven, and it also helps ensure that items will brown more evenly.
The FE-R300SB also features a generous 5.9 cubic foot capacity oven; four-burner radiant cooktop including two dual and one fast-boil element; Steam Quick for fast, efficient oven cleaning; and a 1.1 cubic foot capacity storage drawer.

A:AnswerTo use the Proofing setting on FE-R300SW, simply press the Proof button then press Start on the control panel. The ideal proofing temperature (which is less than 100°F) is set automatically. Refer to the recipe for the type of dough you're proofing to determine how much time is required for it to rise. When the dough is finished proofing, press the Clear/Off button.

A:Answer"SE" is the Shorted Key error code. Press the CLEAR/OFF button then restart the oven. If the problem persists, disconnect all power to the range for at least 30 seconds and then reconnect the power. If the error code returns again, your range may require service. A:AnswerThe Sabbath mode on the FE-R300SW range refers only to the oven controls, not the cooktop. This feature enables the oven to be left on continuously, rather than shutting off automatically after 12 hours, and can be used with baking only. For more information, please refer to page 30 of the user manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website for your convenience.

A:AnswerSamsung recommends selecting a pot that is no smaller than the burner, but also doesn't overhang the outer ring of the burner by more than 1/2 inch in any direction. For more information on selecting the proper cookware, please refer to pages 18-19 of the user manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website for your convenience.

A:AnswerYes, this model does have the Proofing feature. The FE-R300SW is the white version of the FE-R300SB, which is black.

A:AnswerIt will work fine, using a larger pot, or pan, on a smaller cooking area. We did that all the time when we had our old stove, with the electric burners. There is no difference now, with these burners. We have a huge frying pan that is larger than the largest size burner, and the bottom of the pan heats uniformly to cook. You just shouldn't use a smaller pot on a larger area....
A:AnswerThe pre-programmed temperature settings for Chicken Nuggets on the Samsung Range are 350°F for Low and 400°F for Hi. The amount of time it takes to reach these temperatures can vary depending on several factors, such as the ambient temperature in the room when the oven starts pre-heating and how frequently the door is opened.

A:AnswerThe non-scratching abrasive "white stuff" is all we use. Water takes out most stuff. If you have a very shiny black surface, you could use vinegar or glass cleaner. Vinegar and water cleans windows well.
A:AnswerI'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your range. It is common within the industry for there to be a variance of up to ±25°F between the set temperature and the actual oven temperature, based on a number of factors, though Samsung ranges are actually designed to have even less of a variance (±10°F to 20°F). If you find that your range is cooking faster or slower than familiar recipes call for, you can adjust the internal thermostat by up to ±35°F by following the instructions on page 28 of the user manual. If yours is varying by more than that, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

A:AnswerThank you for your interest. The leveling legs on the FE-R300 need to be turned in order to be adjusted, but do not have a locking mechanism.
- Ms. Samsung
A:AnswerNot even close. My usual seems to be 425 for most things and that takes about as long as it takes me to smoke a cigarette. I can turn it on, smoke and it's ready by the time I've got the food on the pan and ready to go. I'd guess maybe 8 minutes. 10 minutes at the absolute most, but way less than 27 minutes on the reviews. I read those reviews as well before I purchased mine, but bought it anyway. I'm very glad I did. There isn't anything bad about this oven with exception of the typical concern of a flat top stove being more prone to scratching, but that's not really been an issue for me so far either with the black color.
A:AnswerThank you for the questions. The Control Lockout (or Child Lock) on the FE-R300SX allows you to lock the buttons on the touch pad so they cannot be activated accidentally, such as when you're wiping the control panel to clean it. This model's Energy Saver (or Auto Shut Off) feature automatically turns off the oven after 12 hours during baking functions or after 3 hours during a broil function, in the event the oven is left on accidentally. Both of these features can be disabled or enabled by following the instructions in the user manual.
