• The Cable Box from your Cable provider is there to unscramble the signal sent to your house. The TV has nothing to do with the signal coming in. That's how the cable company makes money from it's subscribers. The signal strength and the quality of your TV decide whether you have a GREAT picture or a SO-SO one.
