In the store they said it the Series 7 and 8 both have the same processor but the 8 has two HDMI inputs. The Series 7 is less expensive but most importantly Consumer Reports rated the Series 7 better than the Series 8.

You also gain the Ambient Mode feature, with Photo and Music Wall giving you more ways to use your TV.
