I too am a senior and had the same question. If you choose not to use the guide for channel selection, the remote has a button "1 2 3" this gives a popup with numbers so that you can enter the channel you want. I only use air tv and you may select all stations including the " -" plus the extension in this menu eg: 26-6. Also the return arrow goes to the previous channel and you can also make a favorite list of only the channels that you watch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on the streaming service I'm using. If I'm using cable or DirecTV I use their remote and I use the guide button if my channel selector. If I'm using just my Samsung remote, there is a channel selector up and down but without a streaming service such as a cable box, satellite Roku device there's no need to change the channels. If your Samsung TV is a smart TV then you choose the streaming service, such as Netflix and you just move the button from left the right to choose what you want to watch. If it is still too difficult to choose which remote to use. But normally there's no need to change channels using a Samsung remote because of the streaming service that needs to be used in order to watch most shows and programs.

The guide can also be brought up, by holding down the channel button. If you were looking for a remote with numbers, you can purchase a universal remote. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-replacement-remote-for-samsung-tvs-black/5577783.p?skuId=5577783 ^Celina
