“Which is better tv? The 55" 8000 or the 50" 8000? Comments about sound quality are concerning. Can you tell which is better in general & how many HDMI ports are there? Also do I need to be concerned about my older vcr/vhs tape player to hook up to it?”

Hi Crazyaboutcable! The AU8000 features the same specs throughout all sizes. You will not gain or lose any features by changing sizes from 50" to 55". Samsung 2021 TVs do not feature composite or analog connections for older devices such as a VCR. This TV features HDMI ports for connecting to external devices. ^Tim
