No. If by that you mean to receive basic free antenna channels there's a built-in efficient antenna built in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, yes, if you are using cable for TV programming. We thought since it was a "Smart" TV that it didn't require the box but it does. Don't have the TV set up the channels either. Make sure the TV is OFF no matter what you are connecting. So connect your cable box by coax and then turn the TV on. The TV will then only recognize the cable set channels. If you use the TV to set channels you may get only 7. Also just so you know, it only has 2 HDMI ports so it limits your other external connections. I hope this helps.
