How does sound bar hook up HDMI or digital audio? null

HDMI is better and then you can use the tv remote for both

I have my soundbar connected to HDMI #3 which is labeled ARC

Depends on the sound bar. The TV has the capability to connect audio multiple ways (Via HDMI, Digital Audio, or Bluetooth). Most Sound bars use a Digital Optical Audio cable to connect the Sound bar to the TV. Hope this helps
