• I had to upgrade to genie because it is a 1080p and the Directv box I had was only a HDTV 1080i. But, as I understand it, 1080p is good for on demand movies, so the Directv box that I have is set to 1080i and the picture and sound quality is fantastic. DIRECTV was very helpful working with me upgrading my system. Had to get a genie mini for my small tv because the new tv could not support it. Now everything works great.
