“Can I make it a dumb monitor easily? Can the "smart" features be disabled so the unit acts like a "dumb" HDMI monitor on power-up? ( Or does the unit need an operator to make it display video )”

I came home the other day and my 15 year old son was watching Star Wars. He had gotten on the laptop and found the movie on YouTube, so he took an HDMI cable, plugged it into the HDMI input, and was playing the laptop through our TV! I told him he could have used the Smart TV features to search YouTube on the TV, and he said "I know, but I already had it on the laptop and it was quicker to just plug it up to the TV." Having said all this, I can only assume you could do the exact same thing with a PC or any laptop.
